2020 Holiday Shipping Deadlines

Somehow, the holidays are already here. 2020 has flown by and one thing we know is that there’s more online shopping happening than ever before. This year we’ll all be avoiding malls, so we need to plan ahead and account for shipping delays to ensure we get everything in time.

We’ve included the holiday deadlines for the three major U.S. shipping carriers: USPS, UPS, and FedEx as well as some larger online retailers. If you want your order to arrive before Christmas, just follow these dates.

USPS Christmas Shipping Deadlines

• Dec 15 (Tue) – Deadline for USPS Retail Ground
• Dec 18 (Fri) – Deadline for First Class Mail
• Dec 19 (Sat) – Deadline for Priority Mail
• Dec 23 (Wed) – Deadline for Priority Mail Express

UPS Christmas Shipping Deadlines

• Dec 15 (Tue) – UPS Ground
• Dec 21 (Mon) – UPS 3 Day Select shipments
• Dec 22 (Tue) – UPS 2nd Day Air shipments
• Dec 23 (Wed) – UPS Next Day Air shipments
• Dec 25 – UPS is closed. UPS Express Critical services available.

FedEx Christmas Shipping Deadlines

• Dec 9 (Wed) – Deadline for FedEx SmartPost shipments
• Dec 15 (Tue) – Deadline for FedEx Ground shipments
• Dec 21 (Mon) – Deadline for FedEx Express Saver (3-day) shipments
• Dec 22 (Tue) – Deadline for FedEx 2Day and FedEx 2Day A.M. shipments
• Dec 23 (Wed) – Deadline for FedEx Standard Overnight, FedEx Priority Overnight, and FedEx First Overnight
• Dec 25 (Fri) – Deadline for all FedEx SameDay shipments (additional Holiday fee is applied)

Amazon hasn’t published a schedule but as you’ve noticed, delivery times have varied quite a bit in recent months. As always, the best rule of thumb is to order as early as possible.
